The trade agreement launches commercial partnership between countries’ private sectors.
Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo signed a trade agreement with Angolan Commerce Minister Rui Miguêns de Oliveira this week, adding to actions taken during President Joe Biden’s visit to Angola. This Memorandum of Understanding formally launched the U.S.-Angola Commercial and Investment Partnership (CIP), which opens doors for private trade and investment between both countries.
“Through the CIP, the Department and Ministry plans to engage with private sector stakeholders… and promote equitable, private sector-led economic growth,” the Commerce Department announced. “Additionally, through the CIP, the Department and Ministry will seek to identify and facilitate commercial and investment opportunities in priority sectors, such as agricultural technology and infrastructure.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Raimondo to be discerning as she oversees the Commerce Department in the final weeks of this term.
- For Commerce Department officials as they seek to strengthen and support foreign trade.
